In Utah you should look into the Sterling Scholar Awards of Utah. This grant is open to high school seniors. You must be nominated by your principal so start earning brownie points as soon as possible. The categories you can be nominated in are mathematics, computer technology, English , social sciences, family and consumer sciences, speech and drama, music, visual arts and dance. The grant is designed to give financial assistance to outstanding high school seniors.

Another Utah grant source is the Utah Centennial Opportunity Program for Education. Applicants must show financial need and be willing to accept school assistance jobs, work-study assignments or community jobs.

Try also the Utah Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership Program. This grant is open to participating colleges only. These colleges include the University of Utah, Webber University, Westminster College, Utah Valley State College, Snow College, Dixie State College and Southern Utah University.
