I love computer software for children, designed to help them learn. I would much rather see a child interacting with a computer than vegetating in front of the TV.
A few of the labels staring back at me, from my computer desk, are Madeline
Thinking Games, The Lion King Animated Storybook, Teen Digital Diva, I Can be an
Animal Doctor, Barbie Riding Club, Barbie Magic Hair Styler, Detective Barbie
Mystery of the Carnival Caper, Amazing Animals and My Amazing Human Body.
At the end of every school year we buy the Clue Finders Adventures CD for my youngest daughter's next school year. We just started on Clue Finders 5th Grade Adventures. This helps to keep the learning gears in motion all summer. When the CD and activity book are mastered, over the course of the summer, 5th grade will be that much easier. Below are some good examples of software for children that will have your children happy to put on their thinking caps.
Do you have some software favorites your children have enjoyed and learned from? Let us know what you allow on the computer and how you monitor it. Anything else computer and kids related is fine also.
