The Rhode Island State Grant Program is a good place to check in with. If your family finances are low they can probably help, it is a need based assistance. You must be a Rhode Island resident and be going to an accepted school in the U.S, Canada or Mexico.

Frederick J. Benson Scholarship

Block Island residents should look into the Frederick J. Benson Scholarship. It total two grand a year, renewable, but you need to have attended a year of college before you are eligible.

Sophomores studying advertising should look into the J.D. Edsal Advertising Scholarship. You need to be a Rhode Island resident and wanting to work in the field of advertising upon graduation.

Rhode Island Space Grant

The NASA Rhode Island Space Grant Consortium has several different scholarships available for Rhode Island students. The one I got was the NASA Rhode Island Space Grant Consortium Outreach Scholarship for Undergraduate Students. It was $4000 that really helped.
