Magazines for children, kids love getting a couple in the mail each month. My daughter and I can't wait to sit down
with Ranger Rick when it arrives. Magazines make lasting gifts for children. They will remember you at
least once a month all year. Not many gifts can promise that.
I could always count on two sets of grandparents keeping the mailbox full of fun reading material for the kids.
These wonderful grandparents were taking care of a couple of very important needs. They were supporting the school fundraisers, I mean, when a grandkid hands you an order form, well, you have to buy something. At least my parents did. Every child in the family had a magazine come to their home addressed to them. Now that's pretty special.
Most of my favorite magazines for children are in my Magic Shop. Ranger Rick is there of course. So is Boys Life, the one that I grew up with. Others that have been around my home for years now include Highlights, Young Rider, Your Big Backyard and Kids Discover. Had I had any boys I would have had Sports Illustrated for Kids and Boy Life for sure.
Magazine articles make perfect bedtime stories. They are also something a child is likely to pick up and read on their own. One reason for that is they are new and fresh every month. They also belong to them, especially if they came in the mail with their name attached.
Magazines for children are just another way of filling your home with knowledge. Books and magazines should be everywhere. Well, maybe not everywhere. I remember what a constant challenge it was to keep them on one of the many bookshelves, instead of everywhere.
Some other children's magazines I would recommend are:
Boys Life
Sports Illustrated Kids
Ranger Rick
Your Big Backyard
Highlights For Children
Kids Discover
Zoobooks
