Green Schools In California

The big buzz in green schools is happening in American Canyon, California with the building of the American Canyon High School. This school appears to be one of the greenest schools ever built. It will produce about eighty five percent of it's power use, every classroom will be lit with natural daylight, all of the rain water landing on the property will be harvested and used for landscaping and green areas and all the water fixtures are water efficient. This school truly is green, eco-friendly and energy conserving in every way possible.
The campus should open in the fall of 2010 and will be a total of 260,000 square feet. It will consist of four different learning centers each with about 500 students. This school is an incredible design concept and should be an equally incredible learning environment.
California is usually on the cutting edge of most progressive programs such as green schools, so a school like this, in California, should come as no surprise.
