In simple terms, we need to think about all the products that are used in the school, getting rid of the toxic ones. Every school should practice recycling and be working on some type of alternative energy program. The school yard should be green, with plenty of vegetation and garden area, all watered from reclaimed rain water. The food the children eat should be fresh and organic. The lessons they learn about taking care of our earth should not just be from a book, get out and make some compost and grow a garden.
So much can be done, and it all results in our children spending their time in a healthy environment and learning important life skills about taking care of our planet.
