The Magic Shop

Located in the Magic Shop are some of my personal favorites, starting with the Parents Magazine.  This is an outstanding resource for new parents.  The Parenting Magazines are equally useful for new parents and with a couple of versions to choose from.  American Baby should be on your coffee table if you have a baby in your stomach or your arms.  The Pregnancy magazine offers a lot of insights into this critical time in a child's development.

If it applies, and now days it probably does, Working Mother offers great advice and support for working moms.  Today's Parent stands out as an excellent parenting resource, this one should be included in your top ten list.

In the children's magazine section there a few standouts that I probably have a thousand back issues of.  Ranger Rick is one of my favorites.  Highlights is another outstanding magazine for kids.  Many a bedtime story came courtesy of Highlights.  Your Big Backyard is another favorite of mine.

When it comes to parenting books, I have so many favorites it is hard to know where to start.  Kevin Leman comes to mind quickly.  His "What A Difference A Daddy Makes" is excellent reading.  "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day" worked out well for me 3 out of 4 times.

The prenatal section is full of wonderful books for the expectant mother.  There are some in there that dads should read also.  I always liked the ones with pictures because I was one of those nuts that ran around showing everyone what my baby looked like at 9 weeks 15 weeks and so on.
