Just what are magazines for gifted children?  They can be most anything that stimulates your child to think and learn.  You will not find a magazine that says "for the gifted child" nor should you want to.  But you do want several good magazines that come to your house every month with your child's name on them.

Having raised a gifted child I can offer this advice.  If you wait for the school to tell you your child is gifted before you start treating that child special, you may have waited to long.  My daughter went on to become a professor at Yale, after being labeled as gifted in the third grade.  Would she have been labeled gifted, gone to special classes, and on to a doctorate degree if she had not been treated as gifted from the time she was born?

Fill your house with books and magazines.  Teach your children the love of knowledge starting from day one.  Most of the advice given for raising gifted children applies to all children.  Chances are your child will never be labeled "gifted" if they have been raised as "normal".  Chances are just as good that your "gifted" child will never be labeled as such.  Not having the label does not make your child any less gifted.  Many geniuses have made it through school never having attended special classes.

The more you learn about raising gifted the children the better.  Any child that is raised thinking they are gifted and special will find a way to become just that.  Your child raising library should not be complete without a few books about raising gifted children.  The Magic Shop has books for parents and a selection of magazines for gifted children.
